Ambrose Lozari’s father often returned from hunting in the Alps north of Venice with tales of bizarre encounters with strange, other-worldly creatures. When the First World War leaves their family farm in ruins, Ambrose and his father flee to early 20th-century America.  

In this new world exploding with science and industry, Ambrose survives the death of his father to begin encountering the luminous, frightening, and impossibly strange himself.
